Partied out.

Sun Dec 13, 2009, 12:01 AM
So, we've been having kids' parties at work lately for the holidays but we've had four in as many weeks. And I've had to help plan them. I am tired of parties. I did have fun with our Grinch-fest one last Saturday but that was because I actually made a Grinch costume and came to the party dressed as the Grinch. That was really successful with the kids.

However, I hope we don't have any more parties for a few weeks so that I can recharge. I think I need another vacation!

During the month of November I participated in a Write a Novel in a Month event. You're supposed to write 50,000 words in a month and the story should technically be done by the time you reach 50,000. Needless to say, my story is not done but I did surpass 50,000 words. I hope to finish it soon and possibly get it published through a self-publishing site. Since the story deals with redeeming The Ultimate Fallen Angel, Lucifer, I need to get it done soon since fallen angels seem to be the newest fad for fantasy novels in both Young Adult stories and romance novels. Mine's a bit risque for YA but it should fit in just fine with the adult romances. I just want to get mine done and out in the open before the fad gets too big like the vampires and zombies and before someone else jumps on the boat to have Lucifer as a romantic hero in a romance novel. So, if I suddenly come across another fallen angel story that has Lucifer as the lead, I might just have to suspect that the author read this and may have taken the theme. I'm actually refraining from reading any of the actual fallen angel stories just so I'm not influenced by their plots but I'm using the ';Paradise Lost' story as my background history for Lucifer but putting a twist upon it. I may even see if I can turn it into a series since I've become quite attatched to my angels, both fallen and archangels!

I'd love to be able to do a cover for the story but I can't get my Lucifer to cooperate on my paper. If anyone is interested in doing a commission, I'd be happy to give some background information about the characters and their physical appearances. I'd love for it to be more realistic but I'd quite happily take an animated look, computerized or done with traditional art supplies, i.e markers, paint, etc. But it's just a thought and who knows, maybe Lucifer and the rest will cooperate with me and sit still long enough for me to capture them on paper ^_^

Well, I think that's it for now! Stay Creative everyone!

On Vacation!!

Fri Oct 23, 2009, 7:25 PM
So, I'm finally taking some well deserved vacation time. Hopefully this will allow me to work on some art projects that have been taking residence in my mind for awhile now. Possibly even work on some stories that have been fighting with my art projects for priority in my mind. Well, hopefully I can please both of them and do writing and artwork.

I should start thinking about getting a Mac computer. My Windows just doesn't seem to be cutting it for me as much anymore. Plus, with the new Windows 7 being just a renamed and updated Windows Vista, I'm not too keen on having to buy a program that will just cause me more problems than I need or want. But first, I'll need to make sure I have the money to afford a new computer.

But, I'll need to do a little research on Macs before making the commitment!

Now a member of Facebook, baby!!

Mon Aug 17, 2009, 8:57 PM
So, I've finally joined to world of Facebook and have my own page. I always thought the idea of finding friends from when you were small or in high school being really nice if you've lost touch over the years. I'm happy to have found some of them again. Of course, should anyone wish to find me, I'm celticreeder@yahoo.com. I've found it's very hard to find people just by entering in their names. There are far too many out there with the same name. I wonder how many have mine?

Hey, does anyone know how to change the age part of my profile? It's got my birthday so why doesn't it automatically update my age? It still says I'm 24 when I'm actually 25 now. Anyone know, huh, huh?

That's it!!

Still Alive!!

So, as you can see I am not real big on updating. I even hate it when a favorite artist or author doesn't update for a really long time. It's not that I don't have the time; it's that I'm really boring. I don't have umpteen billion things to say. That's probably why I don't do FaceBook, Twitter or MySpace.

I've also not been inspired lately to do anything besides read. Not that reading isn't good but I miss getting that sudden surge of excitement when I suddenly have a new story or image in my head that I have to get down on paper. However, I have recently rearranged my bedroom and so now I have three bookshelves full of my books (ones that had previously been shoved under my bed in piles or plastic tubs) and I've finally gotten stuff from college that had been in my aunt's basement sent back to me. I had alot of my art supplies and sketchbooks there. With the return of my art supplies and the change in my sleeping environment, I've started to feel the creative juices squeezing out. Not flowing, yet mind you, but getting there. I'm hoping that means in another week or so I'll be inspired enough to sit down and either write a new story (or at least continue on one that's already started) or sketch out some new artwork.

Well, I guess only time will tell, huh! Wish my luck!

Thu Oct 23, 2008, 4:38 PM
Okay, so this wasn't really sent to me. I saw it on Iron-Gibbit's journal entry, but it looked really fun so I had to do it.

Rules:
1. Put your Ipod/Itunes on shuffle.
2. For each question, press the next button to get your answer.
3.YOU MUST WRITE THAT SONG DOWN, NO MATTER HOW SILLY IT SOUNDS!
4.Tag your friends whom you think might enjoy the game as well as the person who sent you the quiz.

12. WHAT IS YOUR LIFE STORY?
"Spiel Mit Mir" -Rammstein (Translation: Play With Me. This also sounds kinky but I do love board games, too!)

13. WHAT DO YOU WANT TO BE WHEN YOU GROW UP?
"Straight Through the Mirror" -Blind Guardian

14. WHAT DO YOU THINK WHEN YOU SEE THE PERSON YOU LIKE?
"Stipped" -Rammstein (No translation because the song is in english but it sounds kinky!)

"Chance" -Savatage

"Popcorn" -Unknown Artist

17. WHAT WILL THEY PLAY AT YOUR FUNERAL?

18. WHAT IS YOUR HOBBY/INTEREST?

26. WILL YOU EVER GET MARRIED?
"Underground" -DAvid Bowie (Oh, does this mean I'll elope?)

27. WHAT SCARES YOU THE MOST?
"Engel" -Rammstein (Translation: Angel)

28. DOES ANYONE LIKE YOU?
"Mein Teil" -Rammstein (Translation: My Part. This song is actually about canniblism and a famous cannible in Germany. Now I'm disturbed)

29. IF YOU COULD GO BACK IN TIME, WHAT WOULD YOU CHANGE?
"Time Warp" -Rocky Horry Picture Show (Yeah, you know, that pelvic thrust really has to go, haha!)

30. WHAT HURTS RIGHT NOW?
Livin' La Vida Loca" -Antonio Banderas and Eddie Murphy (I think the song speaks for itself.)

31. WHAT WILL YOU POST THIS AS?
"Lose Control" -Evanescence

I actually did this quiz twice and the first time some of the songs were much more appropriate, but I thought I had miscounted the number of questions so I was doing the quiz a second time just to see if everything matched up. I think I'll leave these answers and maybe post the first answers later if anyone wishes to know them.
